Sharing knowledge and green practices after the mobility in Romania

At the end of November, following their participation in activities in Romania under the Green YOUth Change Makers project, our young eco-activists in Karlovo, Bulgaria, took the initiative to pass on what they had learned to their peers.

The activity combined education with community spirit. Within the framework of the COSTAS pilot project, implemented by our partners from ATEna Stowarzyszenie in Poland, the youth engaged in creative eco-workshops that emphasized the importance of preserving nature and adopting sustainable habits.

During the session, participants shared stories and practical tips about reducing plastic waste and caring for the local environment. The meeting was accompanied by a warm and convivial atmosphere in which tea was served – a symbolic way to connect discussions on nature with the benefits of clean ecosystems. The tea itself became a metaphor for the importance of environmental protection: only by maintaining unpolluted natural spaces can we continue to enjoy healthy herbs and plants. As a practical outcome, each participant received a small package of mixed flower seeds to plant in their home gardens or in front of their residential buildings. These mini “pollinator gardens” are meant to support bee populations, which are vital for biodiversity but currently face global decline.

Through this activity, young people were reminded that the extinction of bees would lead to severe consequences for ecosystems and humanity. By planting flowers and fostering pollinator-friendly spaces, they directly contribute to protecting biodiversity and securing the future of local agriculture.

This event demonstrated that the lessons learned during international exchanges can be successfully transferred into local communities. The combination of learning, creativity, and environmental responsibility ensured that the project’s impact extended beyond its direct participants, inspiring more young people to adopt sustainable behaviors.
