On 10 May 2025, young people from the Green YOUth Changemakers project in Bulgaria joined the national campaign “Books for Waste” (Книги за смет).
The campaign invited citizens to bring at least one kilogram of plastic waste and, in exchange, receive an educational book. This initiative turned recycling into an attractive and rewarding activity, motivating more people to reduce plastic pollution.
For participants, the campaign was a valuable opportunity to combine environmental action with the joy of reading. They enriched their personal collections with new educational books while contributing to a cleaner environment.
Through this campaign, youth once again proved that sustainability is about both knowledge and action – reducing plastic waste while cultivating curiosity and learning.
