On 18 June 2025, the volunteer team of the Green YOUth Changemakers project returned to the young people of Drobeta Turnu Severin, this time at Gheorghe Țițeica National College.
The workshop brought together 27 students for an interactive session on climate change, one of the most pressing issues of our time.
During the workshop, participants explored:
- What climate change means and why it is already considered a global crisis.
- The concrete effects in Romania, from tornadoes to hailstorms and prolonged droughts.
- Ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through individual and collective action.
- An engaging Kahoot quiz, testing their knowledge in a fun and dynamic way.
Students actively discussed how everyday choices – from food consumption to mobility and shopping habits – influence the environment. Inspired by the example of Greta Thunberg, they reflected on how youth voices and actions can make a difference.
The workshop concluded with a practical challenge: What concrete action can YOU take to reduce your carbon footprint? The answers offered by the students were creative and inspiring, showing their genuine commitment to change.
This activity once again demonstrated that the younger generation is informed, motivated, and ready to contribute to building a more sustainable future.
