On 21 March 2025, during the international Week of Water, Bulgarian participants of the Green YOUth Changemakers project organised interactive awareness activities in Karlovo highschool Vasil Levski.

High school students gave presentations on two crucial topics:

Air pollution, focusing on its causes, consequences, and effects on human health.

The impact of fast fashion, emphasising how overconsumption and textile waste negatively affect the environment. The sessions included video screenings, debates, and Q&A moments, encouraging students to reflect on how daily lifestyle choices—such as clothing consumption and transport—directly contribute to pollution.

These activities also built on the local waste collection campaign coordinated by the Youth Information Centre Karlovo. Since November 2024, the community had already collected and recycled over one ton of plastic from the designated container installed in the town.

By combining environmental education with tangible results, the Week of Water activities inspired students to adopt sustainable habits and share these lessons within their communities.
