On 6 June 2025, the Green YOUth Changemakers project organised an engaging environmental education workshop at Gheorghe Țițeica National College in Drobeta Turnu Severin.

Facilitated by two volunteers from project team, the workshop was dedicated to the 3Rs principle – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

The programme began with a motivational session where students reflected on how their daily actions impact the environment. Real-life examples demonstrated how small local initiatives can lead to significant global effects.

Participants then watched inspiring videos on the consequences of littering, followed by a debate and a practical game called “Waste Meter”, which challenged them to classify different types of waste—batteries, PET bottles, packaging, and food leftovers—according to their level of danger to the environment.

The activity ended with an interactive quiz that tested the knowledge gained and encouraged teamwork. In total, 28 students took part, leaving motivated to act as ambassadors for the environment in their communities.

One participant summed it up perfectly: “I learned that change starts with us, and every action matters.”
